The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of characters who will split off from the main group to begin their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could help the group enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This results in them few options but to head to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
